ZeroBounce Releases The Email List Decay Report for 2023

SANTA BARBARA, CA / ACCESSWIRE / February 28, 2023 / ZeroBounce announces the release of The Email List Decay Report for 2023, unveiling the latest statistics about the lifecycle of email databases. In the report, ZeroBounce shares data trends it gathered after validating more than six billion email addresses.

The ZeroBounce Email List Decay Report for 2023
ZeroBounce announces the release of The Email List Decay Report for 2023.

The findings are eye-opening for email marketers and companies relying on email for vital communications. At least 22.71% of the average email list degrades annually, the ZeroBounce report shows. At 20.19%, invalid email addresses made up most of the obsolete data processed by the email validation and deliverability company. Also prevalent were catch-all, disposable, abuse, spam trap, and toxic email addresses. In total, only 57.21% of all the emails ZeroBounce verified were valid and safe to use.

“Any database can acquire poor-quality email addresses which cause email deliverability to plummet,” says ZeroBounce founder and CEO Liviu Tanase. “Reaching the inbox is getting increasingly difficult, and using a healthy email database is a must. This report paints a clear picture of how fast email data degrades. The good news is that email marketers can stay on top of their email list health so they can be in the inbox and increase revenue.”

The Email List Decay Report for 2023 also reveals how likely users are to misspell their email addresses when filling out a sign-up or registration form. In just one year, ZeroBounce detected more than 10 million typos via its real-time email verification API. The software thus prevents potential bounces and continues to ensure companies build more reliable lead acquisition programs.

“Letting go of obsolete data makes an email list more responsive and more likely to convert. While so many companies focus on quantity, those who pay attention to data quality will see a boost in email ROI,” says ZeroBounce Chief Operating Officer Brian Minick.

To create the report, ZeroBounce analyzed the data it processed between January and December 2022. The benchmarks apply to companies of all sizes, across various industries, as ZeroBounce’s customers range from solo business owners to Fortune 500 companies.

Crypto Sets Higher Standards for Proof of Reserves for Traditional Finance: Bybit CEO

  • The new norms after 2022: crypto exchanges have set a high bar in transparency with 100% verifiable proof of reserves
  • DEXs form an important part of a healthy ecosystem by supporting medium and long-term traders
  • Bybit has a calling as a CEX: delivering seamless integration into Web3 for everyday users

DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES – Media OutReach – 28 February 2023 – The future of the crypto industry is one step closer to its full potential, now trust and transparency is at the forefront, said Bybit CEO Ben Zhou. According to Zhou, technology will lead the way in restoring trust in crypto, and legitimate exchanges have what it takes to outperform traditional financial institutions in terms of transparency.

Speaking as part of a panel discussion at Blockchain Life 2023 in Dubai on Monday, Zhou proposed leveraging the open nature and real-time verification that decentralized technology offers. Blockchain is part of the solution, and crypto-native solutions can help armor the financial industry against traditional and new forms of fraud risk. He noted that crypto exchanges are able to offer real-time, verifiable proof of reserves, which is far and above the transparency traditionally offered by financial institutions.

Bybit is committed to managing user funds with the utmost transparency and integrity, which is why it has real-time proof of reserves with a purpose-built Merkle Tree. Users can use their Merkle Leaf code to check that their assets are recorded as liabilities in Bybit’s on-chain wallets down to the granular details.

For Zhou, this kind of technology — powered by blockchain — is the real solution to the constant news of malfeasance in the crypto and wider financial sector. The new industry norm of proof of reserves can offer users more peace of mind and visibility into exchanges’ assets, and this has tilted the conventional power dynamics between the customers and financial service providers, he said.

Zhou went on to talk about the role of crypto exchanges as the industry moves forward from a challenging 2022. While security considerations are a given, Zhou revealed why CEXs are still preferred by serious traders: deep liquidity and powerful infrastructure with millisecond precision.

Referring to institutional clients and professional traders, Zhou said that “centralized exchanges are pretty much their only choice simply because of the liquidity. And you simply can’t do high frequency trading on a decentralized exchange (DEX) due to infrastructure limitations.” However, Zhou suggested that those interested in medium-to-long term trades could consider DEXs as an option.

“Our role — and that of any centralized exchange — is to be ready for mass adoption and be the gateway to Web3 when it happens. So, I still believe in the industry,” Zhou added. “In two years, you will see signs of mass adoption. Your uncles, your aunties, your cousins will all start to use crypto,” he said.

Refugee agency appeals for $137 million to help displaced in Horn of Africa

Lifesaving aid is needed urgently to help millions of people enduring one of the  longest and most severe droughts on record in the Horn of Africa, the UN refugee agency, UNHCR, said on Tuesday, as the region enters its sixth consecutive rainy season with no rain.

Today in Somalia, Ethiopia and Kenya, more than eight million people require food assistance and around 332,000 “urgently need food, otherwise their lives are at risk”, said UNHCR spokesperson Olga Sarrado.

A full eight in 10 of the displaced are women and children, the UNHCR official continued, while UN migration agency, IOM, warned that failed rains and conflict in Somalia, “could force tens of thousands of people” to seek refuge in major cities and towns, particularly in Baidoa and Mogadishu where IOM projects that approximately 300,000 people could be newly displaced by July 2023”.

In an appeal for $137 million to maintain vital humanitarian programmes this year, UNHCR’s Ms. Sarrado said that well over three million refugees and internally displaced people have already been forced to leave their homes in Somalia, Ethiopia and Kenya.

Struggle to survive

Survival is a struggle for these uprooted communities, amid scarce water sources, hunger, insecurity and conflict. They need safety and assistance, just as much as host communities do too, the UN agency insisted.

“While famine has so far been averted in Somalia, mostly due to a stepped-up humanitarian response, people continue to battle life-threatening food and water shortages resulting from massive losses of harvests, livestock, and income,” Ms. Sarrado explained.

Price to pay

The UNHCR spokesperson warned however that prices of essential foodstuffs and other commodities “remain at an all-time high, out of reach for many. The dangerous confluence of climate and conflict in the region is worsening an already dire humanitarian situation.”

In Somalia alone, since the start of the year, 288,000 people have become internally displaced, because of conflict and drought, UNHCR data shows.

More than 180,000 refugees from Somalia and South Sudan have also crossed into drought-affected areas of Kenya and Ethiopia, the UN agency noted.

In Ethiopia’s Somali region – itself already suffering deeply from drought – nearly 100,000 people have arrived in Doolo in recent weeks, after fleeing conflict in the Somalia’s Laascaanood area.

Desperate testimony

In Kenya’s Dadaab camps, UNHCR also reported the testimony of a 60-year-old woman from Somalia who said that she had endured three decades of conflict in southern Somalia, but that it was extreme hunger that forced her to flee for her life.

“Most of the newly displaced might never go back to their places of origin because the land can no longer provide, and insecurity will only increase as competition for the already scarce resources grow,” IOM said in an alert for the record 3.8 million people now displaced in Somalia. “As a result, entire families will be born and raised in informal settlements amid unsuitable living conditions.”

Humanitarian action

As part of its response, UNHCR plans to provide more basic relief items including emergency shelter and household items for new refugee arrivals and displaced people in Somalia, Ethiopia and Kenya.

Water trucking supplies will be increased, while additional boreholes will be drilled and existing water and sanitation systems refurbished.

Cash assistance will be prioritized for the most vulnerable to help them supplement their own food needs, while also encouraging traders to make food and other necessities available.

Health facilities will also be supported to step up nutritional assistance for women and children through high-nutrient feeding and medical treatment for related diseases.

“This additional assistance and protection is required urgently…to save millions of lives,” said UNHCR’s Ms. Sarrado, who noted that last year’s appeal garnered less than half of the required amount needed to respond to the drought.

Tanzania, South Africa trade booms

PRETORIA, TANZANIA and South Africa’s bilateral trade has developed rapidly with the former’s exports to the latter reaching 971 million US dollars (equivalent to 2.25tri/-), according to the latest data.

The country’s economic diplomacy with backups from the offices of the High Commissioner in South Africa in collaboration with authorities saw Tanzania’s exports soaring from 700 million US dollars (1.6tri/) in 2017 to 2.25tri/- in 2021.

Tanzania’s High Commissioner to South Africa, Maj Gen (Rtd) Gaudence Milanzi told the ‘Sunday News recently that the High Commission is extensively searching for new market opportunities for Tanzanian products, being a strategy of addressing trade imbalances between the two Southern African Development Community (SADC) member countries.

According to the envoy, Tanzania’s major exports to South Africa are coffee, tea, gold, tobacco, cotton, cocoa, cashew nuts and beans.

On the other side, Tanzania imports various commodities from SA which include machines, spare parts, paper, iron products, vehicles, fruits and wine.

Apart from marketing locally produced products in SA, the diplomatic office and South Africa’s authorities are coordinating a joint business forum which will bring together business communities and other stakeholders from the two countries.

“The forum will be used as a platform to discuss challenges and business opportunities available in Tanzania and South Africa as well as looking for solutions,” he said.

Other activities geared to promote trade and investments between the two, according to the envoy, are coordination of South African investors’ trips to Tanzania.

The diplomat disclosed that recently the Tanzania’s High Commission in South Africa took part in the opening of a metal industry owned by Tanzania national in Cape Town, South Africa. South Africa is one of the top 10 major investors in Tanzania with approximately 10 per cent of total investment in the country.

Quoting Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC) report, about 223 South African companies have invested in Tanzania with a capital amounting to 806.05 million US Dollars (equivalent to 1.9tri/-) between 1997 to August 2022.

The investments of SA’s companies in Tanzania have generated over 21,000 employment opportunities for locals.

“Due to the economic, infrastructural and economic transformation initiatives being implemented by the sixth phase government, and the relaxation of the Covid-19 restrictions, the number is expected to increase as more South African investors have shown interest and are exploring investment opportuni[1]ties in Tanzania,” said Commissioner Milanzi.

The major SA investors in Tanzania are SAB-Miller, Stellenbosch Distillers, SIMBA Cement (Plc), Vodacom, FNB, Stanbic, ABSA, Illovo, Multichoice and AngloGold Ashanti.

Others are Metropolitan, Protea Hotel, Southern Sun and City Lodge, just to name a few.

Top Africa film festival opens in insurgency-hit Burkina

OUAGADOUGOU, Africa’s biggest film festival kicked off in Burkina Faso on Saturday with the Sahel nation’s long-running insurgency looming large over the opening night.

A total of 170 entries have been selected for the FESPACO festival in the capital Ouagadougou, including 15 fiction feature films in contention for the Yennenga Golden Stallion award and a prize of around $30,000.

The president of FESPACO’s organising committee, Fidele Aymar Tamini, said the festival’s 28th edition would embrace the theme of “African cinemas and peace cultures” in the context of the crisis.

The prime minister of neighbouring Mali, the festival’s guest country of honour which is also grappling with a bloody insurgency, said culture had an “avant-garde role to play in the peace process”.

Mali and Burkina Faso are “brother countries” facing the “terrorist hydra” and “our fight for peace and sovereignty remains the priority,” Choguel Kokalla Maiga said to rapturous applause.

Around 60 dancers simulated fighting to the sound of beating drums on an immense stage in a performance called “20 million VDP”, referring to a civilian volunteer force that supports the Burkinabe army.

The ceremony’s organiser said the choreography was designed to showcase the “bravery” of Burkina Faso’s youth faced with the insurgency crisis, which spilled over from Mali in 2015.

Around 12 VDP members were killed in an attack in the unstable north earlier this week, which followed the deaths of at least 70 soldiers in the same region in two separate assaults blamed on militants.

The violence in Burkina Faso has killed more than 10,000 people and forced around two million to flee their homes.

Burkinabe Culture and Communications Minister Jean-Emmanuel Ouedraogo said Mali and Burkina Faso, both ruled by military juntas that seized power in coups, were travelling on the same road in integration and cooperation projects.

Prime Minister Apollinaire Kyelem de Tambela, also attending the ceremony, recently suggested a federation between the West African neighbours.

The festival is due to run until March 4.

WHY ROSEN LAW: We encourage investors to select qualified counsel with a track record of success in leadership roles. Often, firms issuing notices do not have comparable experience, resources, or any meaningful peer recognition. Many of these firms do not actually handle securities class actions, but are merely middlemen that refer clients or partner with law firms that actually litigate the cases. Be wise in selecting counsel. The Rosen Law Firm represents investors throughout the globe, concentrating its practice in securities class actions and shareholder derivative litigation. Rosen Law Firm has achieved the largest ever securities class action settlement against a Chinese Company. Rosen Law Firm was Ranked No. 1 by ISS Securities Class Action Services for number of securities class action settlements in 2017. The firm has been ranked in the top 4 each year since 2013 and has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars for investors. In 2019 alone the firm secured over $438 million for investors. In 2020, founding partner Laurence Rosen was named by law360 as a Titan of Plaintiffs’ Bar. Many of the firm’s attorneys have been recognized by Lawdragon and Super Lawyers.

DETAILS OF THE CASE: According to the lawsuit, defendants throughout the Class Period made false and/or misleading statements and/or failed to disclose, among other things, that: (1) the Janssen Collaboration Agreement was less sustainable than Fate had represented to investors; (2) accordingly, certain of the clinical programs, milestone payments, and royalty payments associated with the Janssen Collaboration Agreement could not be relied upon as future revenue sources; (3) as a result, Fate had overstated the impact of the Janssen Collaboration Agreement’s on Fate’s long-term clinical and commercial profitability; and (4) as a result, the Company’s public statements were materially false and misleading at all relevant times. When the truth emerged, the lawsuit claims that investors suffered damages.

No Class Has Been Certified. Until a class is certified, you are not represented by counsel unless you retain one. You may select counsel of your choice. You may also remain an absent class member and do nothing at this point. An investor’s ability to share in any potential future recovery is not dependent upon serving as lead plaintiff.
