Sunyani: Mr Luke Mensah, the Bono Regional Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Education Service (GES), has lauded the progress of the ongoing Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the region. He commended the candidates for their level of comportment and discipline, urging them to continue to do independent work for their own good.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Mensah mentioned in an interview that the BECE had not encountered any major challenges in the region. He noted that the examination is being closely monitored, and so far, there have been no reports of nursing mothers, pregnant girls, or persons with disabilities participating.
Mr Mensah further added that statistics from the Bono Regional Education Directorate indicate that a total of 24,109 candidates, comprising 12,345 girls and 11,774 boys, are taking the examination. These candidates hail from 805 Junior High Schools, which include 243 public and 562 private schools, and are writing the BECE at 84 centers across the region, supported by 95 supervisors and 802 invigilators.
