Ouagadougou: The organizing committee of the Benda Reem festival actively participated in the Faso Mebo Presidential Initiative, showcasing the civic engagement of young people ahead of the festival scheduled for September 26 and 27, 2025, in Bendogo.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the president of the organizing committee, Mohamed Sodre, emphasized the importance of prioritizing national interests, stating that young people must think of the nation before indulging in festivities.
Sodre highlighted the committee’s commitment to contributing to national development through physical efforts, stressing that human resources are crucial alongside material support. He called on civil society organizations, youth structures, and associations to engage in the Faso Mebo initiative, which he regards as vital and enriching, fostering patriotism and a sense of contributing to a cleaner, more vibrant city.
The upcoming Benda Reem festival in Ouagadougou aims to raise awareness about cultural values amid security challenges, with its theme focusing on cultural identity’s role in combating insecurity. Festival promoter Abdoul Fatahou Birba announced that the event will feature panel discussions on Bendogo’s history and patriotism, emphasizing youth unity.
The festival will also include exhibitions, sales, and artistic performances, serving as a neighborhood event organized by Wisdom Organization and Communication and the Mabiri Association.
