The Executives of the National Association of Vocational and Skills Training Institute (NAVSTI) paid a courtesy call on the Honourable Minister of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology, Professor Pierre Gomez. This was on Monday, 5th September, 2022.
NAVSTI is an umbrella organization of all TVET Institutions in The Gambia. Their objective is to consolidate the efforts of Technical and Vocational Training institutions in the country, in a bid to strengthen and enhance the delivery of TVET. During the visit, the Executive members of NAVSTI reaffirmed their commitment to the Ministry under its new Leadership.
Demba Sallah, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of NAVSTI shared that the Association is pleased with the good working relationship it has with MoHERST; thus, they look forward to a continuation of this trajectory. The PRO further expressed that, the Association was delighted with the Ministry’s transformation agenda which aims at revamping tertiary and higher education institutions into reputable world class standards. This, he said, will bring TVET in the limelight to serve as an engine of growth and development.
The Hon. Minister Prof. Gomez was pleased by the courtesy visit and assured the Ministry of Higher Education’s support to NAVSTI. He tasked them to continue the good work they are doing in the area of TVET development in the country.
