Ouagadougou: A meeting devoted to the adoption of the preliminary draft of the Additional Protocol and the Rules of Procedure of the confederal sessions of the parliaments of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) opened Thursday in the Burkinabe capital, in the presence of the three heads of parliament of the Union.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the President of the Transitional Legislative Assembly of Burkina Faso, Dr. Ousmane Bougouma, and his counterparts from Mali, Malick Diaw, and Niger, Mamoudou Harouna Djingarey, are examining the texts relating to the confederal sessions of the AES parliaments, in accordance with Articles 16, paragraph 2, and 18 of the Confederation Treaty.
The documents that will be adopted at the end of the work of the deputies of the three countries will be transmitted to the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore.
The adoption of these texts marks an important step in the establishment of the Confederal Parliament, in accordance with the Treaty and the Additional Protocol of the AES.
