Pinyin: Reports indicate that at least six individuals were shot dead in the Mamben quarter of Pinyin, a locality within the Santa Subdivision of the North West region. Eyewitnesses have reported that the assailants were dressed in military attire and carried out the attack early Monday morning.
According to Cameroon News Agency, one of the victims was found with charms tied around his waist, while the others were in regular clothing and wearing slippers. There are claims from another source suggesting that the victims were forcibly removed from a local bar before being executed. As of now, no official statement has been released by the authorities regarding the incident.
This attack comes in the wake of tensions in Pinyin, where villagers recently captured and killed two individuals suspected of being separatist fighters. The community had vowed to take action against those they believe are causing unrest in the area.
