22nd November 2022 – During the official visit, there was an MoU signing between Vishwakarma Group (Institutes & University) in India and the High Commission of The Republic of The Gambia in India on the areas of education and research, with a specific focus on undergraduate scholarships in:

Engineering, Architecture, Commerce & Management, Computer Science, Media & Communication, Social Sciences, and Science & Technology fields of study (20 Slots);

Engineering, Technology, and Vocational Education, and Training (VET) fields of study (10 Slots).

The High Commissioner of the Republic of The Gambia in India Mr. Mustapha Jawara signed on behalf of The Gambia in the presence of Dr. Yusupha Touray, Permanent Secertary, Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology.

According to the PS of MoHERST, these scholarships will be administered as they fit positively within the current tertiary and higher education reform agenda as well as the TVET decentralization drive being pursued by the Ministry.
