The Honourable Minister of Higher Education, Professor Pierre Gomez on Monday, 29th August, received the Rector of Gaston Berger University and his team from St. Louis, Senegal. The delegation are in The Gambia to conduct a PhD defense for Pa Saffiong Kebbeh, a University of The Gambia (UTG) lecturer in Computer Science.

Hon. Gomez extended his appreciation to Gaston Berger for their contribution to the development of UTG’s STEM programmes: MSc Mathematics, Statistic, Data Science and Telecommunication. According to Professor Pierre Gomez, Gaston Berger University’s active involvement at the University shows their high sense of Pan Africanism and readiness for a south-south cooperation.

The Rector, Professor Ousman Thiare commended the strong leadership of Prof. Gomez and MoHERST. He looks forward to a continued relationship with The Gambia towards the development of the higher education sector.
