Transfer of Responsibilities Between Prefects in Djibo: High Commissioner Emphasizes Proximity to Population


Ouagadougou: The Djibo town hall meeting room hosted, on Saturday, September 20, 2025, the handover ceremony between the outgoing prefect, Mr. Losseni Woni (2nd twin), and the incoming prefect, Mr. Hubert Drabo. Chaired by the High Commissioner of the Djelgodji province, the meeting was marked by expressions of gratitude and exhortations to serve with commitment.



According to Burkina Information Agency, in his farewell address, the outgoing prefect, Mr. Losseni Woni, expressed his gratitude to his colleagues, department heads, and the people of Djibo for their continued support during the sixteen months he spent at the helm of the department. Promoted to Secretary General of the Djelgodji province on June 4, he assured that he will continue to serve the state with the same determination.



The High Commissioner, Mr. Wend-Nere Wilfried Tougma, then proceeded with the official installation of the new prefect, Mr. Hubert Drabo, in the presence of numerous guests, colleagues, and local authorities.



In his remarks, the High Commissioner congratulated the outgoing prefect on his work and encouraged him in his new role. Addressing the new prefect, he stressed the importance of remaining close to the population and supporting local development initiatives.



Speaking, the new prefect, Mr. Hubert Drabo, thanked the authorities for the trust placed in him. He acknowledged the magnitude of the responsibilities awaiting him and reaffirmed his commitment to working in a spirit of collaboration and transparency to address the challenges facing Djibo.



The ceremony ended with warm congratulations from the participants and a family photo immortalizing this solemn moment of handover.
