Gourma: The Goulmou Regional Directorate of Infrastructure and Enclavement organized a reforestation session in Fada N’Gourma, planting 200 trees in the communal grove with the presence of several stakeholders.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the regional director, Yacouba Christian Ser©, stated that this activity is part of the department’s policy to improve the living environment for the population through initiatives like cleaning gutters, clearing brush in public spaces, and reforestation.

Inmates from the Fada N’Gourma remand and correctional facility participated in the operation, aligning with President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©’s vision to involve remand inmates in community service.

The president of the Fada N’Gourma special delegation, Kampadilemba J©r´me Idani, expressed support for the initiative and committed to maintaining the seedlings. He assured that the trees have secure land and access to a water source.

Mr. Ser© mentioned that the Water and Forestry Department will monitor the plants, while the town hall will take measures to prevent damage by stray animals.
