Buea Regional Hospital Annex Celebrates Dedicated Staff

Buea: A selected few of hospital staff were recognized for their dedication to duty at the Buea Regional Hospital Annex. The event, which took place at the premises of the institution on February 28, was marked with excitement, gratitude, and a call for better service in 2025.

According to Cameroon News Agency, the award ceremony occurred under the watchful eyes of the Regional Delegate of Public Health for the South West, Dr. Eko Eko Filbert, and reached its climax during the awards. Staffers and units were singled out for their input to the overall service delivery.

“We think that if we can encourage people to work then they can do better in what they do,” the hospital’s Director, Dr. Martin Mokake, stated. He further explained that the event was an annual one and added significance to the work of its staff. Dr. Mokake also highlighted that the awards to a few were, by extension, appreciation to the entire hospital workforce for their inputs at various levels.

The best nurse of the pediatric unit, Agbor
Daniella, said her secret was to relieve her patients and not trouble them when they came around. She called on her counterparts not to relent but to keep in mind that God will reward all good deeds.

Ngale Joseph, a recipient of recognition for efforts as a guard, felt grateful to God and the hospital’s administration. He said the recognition was inspiration for him to double his efforts towards his service.

During the event, it was disclosed that the hospital’s pediatric centre is due for completion in six weeks. The 54-bed ward, over 70% executed, is initiated by the regional assembly and will serve children.
