Burkina Faso Celebrates Excellence: Top Teacher Honored with Villa in Ziniare

Ouagadougou: The Center for the Management of Cities (CEGECI) handed over the keys to a four-room villa to Salamata Konate/Kabore, the "super teacher of excellence 2023," in a ceremony held on Thursday in Ouagadougou. The teacher from Tabtenga B school in the Ouaga 10 Basic Education District was awarded the villa as part of CEGECI's initiative to honor outstanding educators.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the villa, located in Ziniare, features three bedrooms, including a master bedroom with an integrated toilet, a living room, a functional internal kitchen, and two modern toilets. The property also includes two covered terraces and is situated on a plot of approximately 240 m². The Director General of CEGECI, Gon Tali Martine Ky, highlighted that the villa represents not only an honor but also a mark of recognition and an investment in the future for the dedicated teacher.

Ms. Ky stated that this gesture aligns with CEGECI's corporate social responsibility as a citizen-oriented institution. Speaking on behalf of the Minister of Basic Education, Secretary-General Ibrahima Sanon emphasized that the villa serves as a powerful symbol of gratitude for Ms. Kabore's years of dedication and sacrifice in educating the children of Burkina Faso. He praised her as a model of excellence necessary to build a quality and resilient educational system.

Mr. Sanon also conveyed the Minister of Education's gratitude to both the Director General of CEGECI and the Minister of Urban Planning for their efforts in promoting academic excellence. Ms. Kabore expressed her honor and motivation upon receiving the villa, dedicating it to all teachers and students. She committed to continuing her efforts in providing the best education possible.

A certified primary school teacher since 2011 at Tabtenga B Primary School, Ms. Kabore has consistently achieved a 100% success rate in the Certificate of Primary Studies (CEP), showcasing her professionalism and unwavering commitment to her students' success.

CEGECI, a public institution of the State, manages infrastructure built by the State and is also involved in the marketing and sale of social and economic housing, among other responsibilities.
