Ouagadougou: The Univers des Tresors (UT) Association and the Universal Gastron Football Center (UGFC) have extended their support to the Faso Mebo Presidential Initiative and the widows of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) through various donations.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the two organizations contributed to the Faso Mebo initiative by providing a bag of rice, a bag of cement, three boxes of trowels, and 70 packs of water. For the FDS widows, the donations included 12 notebooks of 100 pages, 12 notebooks of 300 pages, blue and red pens, packets, 6 academy boxes, 12 bags of rice of 5 kilos, a box of ream, an envelope of 100,000 CFA francs, and other essential supplies.
Promoter Sally Toure, representing the associations, emphasized their commitment to fostering civic values among children by participating actively in the Faso Mebo project. “We are all Burkinabe, we came to Faso Mebo with our children to work, which truly embodies civic values. We did not want to be on the sidelines of this moving train,” she stated.
Ms. Toure further highlighted the importance of this initiative in instilling civic values in children from an early age, aligning with the current ideology of the government. She noted that the association’s goal is to educate and develop young children who could not attend the Faso Mebo summer camp. Therefore, they organized a day of education and awareness for the children.
In her concluding remarks, Ms. Toure called upon every Burkinabe, both locally and in the diaspora, to recognize the significance of this initiative and join efforts in supporting the government to build a stronger and more resilient Faso.
