Fada n’gourma: The Governor of the Gulmu region, Ram Joseph Kafando, chaired the 2025 regional mid-term review of the National Development Policy (NDP) in Fada N’Gourma on Monday, August 11, 2025. Significant progress was noted despite constraints related to insecurity, among other things.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the regional mid-term review of the National Development Policy took place under the leadership of Governor Ram Joseph Kafando. He acknowledged the dedication of regional actors and the resilience shown by the local populations in the face of a challenging security and humanitarian environment. The session aimed to critically evaluate the achievements and propose recommendations to enhance the effectiveness of ongoing efforts.

Rasman© Sankara, the Regional Director of Economy and Planning for Gulmu, highlighted that the review validated the four pillars of the mid-term report as of June 30, 2025. Out of 438 expected products, 138 have been fully completed, and 105 are in progress, resulting in an average physical completion rate of 50.7%. Financially, more than 6,556,148,203 CFA francs were mobilized out of a planned amount exceeding 25 billion, marking a financial execution rate of 25.9%.

Key accomplishments include the construction of school complexes and dispensaries across several municipalities, the distribution of seeds and fertilizers to producers, and the planting of over one million seedlings. Despite these achievements, Rasman© Sankara mentioned several constraints such as ongoing insecurity, reduced collection revenues, and challenges in obtaining data from partners.

Participants were encouraged to contribute to the report and suggest practical measures to tackle the challenges and sustain the planned actions for the remainder of 2025.
