Rwathia: Residents and traders at Kihoya Market in Rwathia, Kangema, have lauded the Murang’a County Government for upgrading the market, noting that the improvements will ease business operations even during the rainy season.

According to Kenya News Agency, one of the residents who attended the launch of the Kihoya Smart City initiative, Simon Daiga, applauded the County government’s efforts to improve infrastructure, noting that the improved roads and drainage systems have made doing business much easier. Daiga expressed satisfaction, stating that the governor’s work should serve as a benchmark for other governors to develop their counties as well. He observed that even on rainy days, businesses remain uninterrupted due to the new drainage systems.

Ninety-one-year-old Kamau Mwangi also commended the County government, expressing pride in witnessing the development led by young Africans after independence. Mwangi remarked on the progress made since the colonialists left, emphasizing the achievements of the current generation.

Kihoya is among 35 markets across Murang’a County that have been upgraded under the ‘Smart City’ program.
