Kourittenga Commemorates Mouloud in Koupela with Prayers for Peace in Burkina Faso


Kourittenga: Muslim worshippers in the village of Zaogo, in the commune of Koupela, celebrated Mouloud 2025 on the night of September 4 to 5. This commemoration of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad was placed under the sign of social cohesion and living together, with prayers for the return of peace to Burkina Faso.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony commemorating the birth of the Prophet Muhammad was held under the direction of the president of the Muslim community of Zaogo, Cheick Dawende Hadara. The worshippers read the Holy Quran and made supplications for security and peace in the country.



Men, women, and children from all corners of the village stood vigil together, imploring the Almighty to bring peace to the land of upright men. Cheick Dawende Hadara highlighted that the celebration of Mouloud serves as a reminder of the Prophet’s birth and is an opportunity for the faithful to draw inspiration from his life, which embodies values essential for building a world of peace, justice, solidarity, and tolerance.



He extended blessings to the Head of State, the Defense and Security Forces, and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland, acknowledging their efforts in fighting for peace. He invited all Burkinabe to unite in their prayers, expressing confidence that God would grant their wishes and that the country would find peace.



Cheick Dawende Hadara also emphasized the role of youth as the driving force of development, urging them to unite and work towards a better Burkina. He wished a happy Mouloud 2025 to the Muslim community and the entire Burkinabe nation, renewing his call for citizens to pray for peace and security.
