Accra: A new poll released by Global InfoAnalytics has suggested that President John Dramani Mahama (JDM) could face challenges in some regions despite maintaining strong national support.
According to Ghana Web, Mahama is struggling in the Bono and Bono East regions and is projected to lose the Northern regions if the 2024 general elections were held again in current times. "It is not all good news for JDM and the NDC as the poll shows JDM struggling in Bono and Bono East and losing the Northern regions," indicated Mussa Dankwah, the Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics.
The poll, however, projected that Mahama would win the Eastern Region and improve his 2024 performance in the Greater Accra, Central, Western, and Western North regions. Sharing the findings in a Facebook post on June 19, 2026, Dankwah noted that the data presents both opportunities and challenges for the National Democratic Congress (NDC). The poll also showed that JDM will outperform his numbers in the Eastern region and other key areas, but will underperform in the Volta region.
