Namentenga Association Celebrates Training Milestone for Young IDP Learners


Namentenga: The Namentenga Association of Artisan Trainers (AAF) recently held a ceremony to award end-of-course certificates to 35 young learners, marking the completion of their professional training. The participants, aged between 15 and 35, included internally displaced women and host girls, who underwent a three-month training program.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the training covered various skills such as cutting and sewing, hairdressing/beauty, weaving/dyeing, and two-wheel mechanics. Additionally, participants were equipped with knowledge in metal carpentry, processing of local products, knitting, dyeing/weaving, and breeding.



The certificate presentation ceremony was chaired by the High Commissioner of the province of Namentenga, Adama Conseiga. The event was attended by notable figures including the president of the special delegation of the commune of Boulsa, Issaka Sangla, the provincial director of Youth and Employment, Patrick Batieno, and other provincial representatives.



Jacques Ouedraogo, the president of the AAF, expressed gratitude for the support received from the provincial directorates responsible for social and humanitarian action, as well as youth and employment. He requested that similar training opportunities be extended to young people from nearby communes such as Bouroum, Nagbingou, Tougouri, and Yalgo.



High Commissioner Adama Conseiga praised the AAF’s efforts in combating poverty and pledged his support to the association’s future endeavors. The learners’ spokesperson, Abssetou Bikenga, highlighted the need for adequate equipment to effectively tackle unemployment and poverty.



The ceremony concluded with the presentation of certificates, a family photo session, and a tree planting activity, symbolizing growth and future prospects.
