Sourou Teacher Honored by President for Resilience and Dedication

Sourou: Certified high school and college teacher, Mominata Modre, has been congratulated by the President of Faso for her exceptional resilience and professional achievements in the challenging environment of Sourou province. On Friday, September 12, 2025, Ms. Modre presented her letter of congratulations and encouragement from President Ibrahim Traore to Joseph Karambiri, the provincial director of Secondary Education, Vocational and Technical Training.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Mominata Modre, who has been teaching English at the provincial high school of Tougan since 2010, received the honor for her commitment to education despite the difficult working conditions and security challenges in the region. Her recognition includes a Sirius motorcycle, a laptop, and a letter of congratulations from President Traore.

Expressing her gratitude, Ms. Modre stated, "I am filled with joy and pride. It is an honor for me to receive this award from the President of Faso. It is also a duty for me to come and present it to the provincial director and receive his wise advice, because when you receive such an award, you must do better to deserve the trust of those who gave it to you." She emphasized the collective effort involved in achieving this recognition and expressed her hopes for the return of security in the province.

Joseph Karambiri, the provincial director, commended Ms. Modre for her resilience and urged her to continue inspiring other teachers in the province. He highlighted the importance of her role in motivating her colleagues to strive for better results.

Following her meeting with the provincial director, Ms. Modre presented her award to the administration of the provincial high school of Tougan and former headmaster Abdoulaye Touze Zina, reinforcing her commitment to the educational community in Sourou.
