Yandoh Criticizes Amoakohene for Prioritizing Football Over Family Duties

Kumasi: Ashanti Regional Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Paul Yandoh, has publicly criticized the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, for neglecting family responsibilities in favor of attending public football screenings. Yandoh's comments have sparked discussions about the minister's priorities and family obligations.

According to Ghana Web, the controversy erupted after Dr. Amoakohene was seen at a local interchange, where he organized a public viewing of a football match, attracting a large crowd. Yandoh, during an interview shared on Facebook by the minister on June 18, 2026, questioned the appropriateness of Amoakohene's actions given his recent family developments.

Yandoh highlighted that Dr. Amoakohene's wife had recently given birth, emphasizing the importance of him being at home to support his family rather than attending football events. He argued that the minister should prioritize his newborn and wife instead of spending nights watching matches.

Additionally, Yandoh expressed concerns about his own safety and held Amoakohene accountable as the head of security in the region. He warned that any harm that might come to him should be attributed to the minister's negligence, as he is responsible for Yandoh's security.
