Youth Awareness Conference in L©raba Calls for Vigilance Against Local Servants


L©raba: The Secretary General of the L©raba Province, Y©onviel Som©, representing the High Commissioner, chaired a provincial awareness-raising conference for young people in Sindou on Monday, August 4, 2025. Young people were called upon to be vigilant both internally and externally against local servants.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was organized as part of the commemoration of International Youth Day, which is scheduled for August 12. The provincial youth directorate of L©raba, following the national trend, held the awareness session on the Progressive and Popular Revolution (RPP) on August 4, 2025. This date also marks the 42nd anniversary of the Democratic and Popular Revolution (RDP) led by Captain Thomas Sankara from 1983 to 1987.



The conference, under the theme “Pact for the Future: The Burkina Faso We Want. The Role of Youth in a Peaceful and Sovereign Burkina Faso,” aimed to inform and raise awareness among young people about the ideology of the RPP. The young attendees were provided with insights into the ideological vision for Burkinabe youth, the Presidential Initiative, opportunities for creation, empowerment, social transformation, and the Confederation of AES States and African integration.



Participants had the opportunity to discuss and receive answers to their questions about the RPP and its concepts. Saibou Zall©, the provincial director in charge of Youth and Employment of L©raba, emphasized that the theme is crucial for bringing a message that could lead to positive changes in awareness and behavior, fostering dignity, integrity, and transparency in Burkina Faso.



Y©onviel Som©, the Secretary General of L©raba, reiterated the call for vigilance among young people against local servants. He urged them to be the guardians of the progressive and popular revolution against ill-intentioned individuals, asserting that the country is on the right path to achieving sovereignty.
