Bogande: The Association Amour AGAPE en Action, in partnership with the Napagou SARL Group, concluded a free training session on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, in Bogande. This initiative enabled 147 young individuals, primarily women, to gain practical skills in saponification and the creation of shea butter-based ointments.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the training spanned three days, from September 1 to 3, 2025. Participants engaged in learning the manufacturing processes of various products including kabakourou soap, liquid soap, powder detergent, laundry soap, and Karilor ointment, all of which utilize shea butter, a high-value local resource.
Ms. Taboudou nee Koumbo Mano, the provincial president of the Association Amour AGAPE en Action, stated that this effort is part of a strategy to empower young people and women by providing them with sustainable economic opportunities.
The training was led by Mr. Attina Napagou of the Napagou SARL Group, who highlighted the diverse modules covered and stressed the importance of precise application of the learned skills to ensure product quality.
Two participants, Mr. Yarga Yenibanipo from Thion and Mr. Tindano Dayebouga from Kossougoudou, expressed their appreciation for the practical training, noting its immediate applicability to their daily activities.
Mr. Jean Baptiste Beogo, the High Commissioner of Gnagna province, urged participants to apply their new knowledge and reiterated the provincial authorities’ support for local job-creating initiatives.
The event concluded with the awarding of certificates to participants and the presentation of symbolic gifts, including products made during the training, to officials, capped by a group photograph.
This capacity-building initiative, as noted by the organizers, aims to support local development through the promotion of shea butter and community entrepreneurship.
