Afia Pokua Challenges Government to Prove Sedina Tamakloe’s Health Status

Accra: Outspoken Ghanaian media personality, Afia Pokua, widely known as Vim Lady, has called on the government to substantiate claims regarding the health status of former MASLOC Chief Executive Officer, Sedina Tamakloe Attionu. This comes amid ongoing discussions about her reported detention and alleged house arrest due to health concerns.

According to Ghana Web, the issue gained traction when Franklin Cudjoe, President of IMANI Africa, suggested on JoyNews that Sedina Tamakloe was under house arrest because of her health conditions. This statement sparked public interest and led to calls for more information on the matter. In response, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, a government spokesperson, asserted that Sedina Tamakloe is currently in the custody of the Ghana Prisons Service.

In a video released on June 19, 2026, Afia Pokua criticized the government's narrative, demanding concrete evidence of Sedina Tamakloe's illness. She urged the authorities to stop using what she termed as flimsy excuses to divert public attention. Pokua stated, "If you claim she is sick, then provide proof. In any case, if she is sick, she should be receiving treatment at a hospital, not staying at home."

Afia Pokua also suggested that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was attempting to distract the public from other pressing issues, referencing claims by Franklin Cudjoe about Sedina's house arrest. She questioned the role of non-medical authorities in confirming Sedina's health condition and emphasized skepticism about the reports until more definitive evidence is provided. "Until we all see that she is in Nsawam, we won't believe any report," she concluded.
