Boulgou: More than 400 Boxes Containing Seized Chicks Incinerated in Bittou


Boulgou: The livestock services of the Bittou border control post, in collaboration with the national police, proceeded on Friday, August 8, 2025 in Bittou, to the incineration of 490 boxes containing chicks seized as part of the fight against cross-border fraud. The boxes containing incinerated chicks are estimated at 5,250,000 CFA francs.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the head of veterinary control at the Bittou border post, senior livestock technician Manyir Da, stated that the ban on importing poultry or poultry products from another country remains in effect. Mr. Da expressed gratitude to the authorities, the Defense and Security Forces, and the entire population for their support.



He urged the population to work closely with the livestock service and the FDS to continue their efforts against illegal imports. The Secretary General of Bittou Town Hall praised the efforts of the livestock services and the national police in maintaining control and upholding the regulations.
