Moussodougou: The Territorial Gendarmerie Brigade of Moussodougou, in the Cascades region, intercepted a truck on the night of August 6, 2025, transporting 1,000 boxes of fraudulent herbicides valued at 10 million FCFA, leading to the arrest of two individuals, AIB learned from a security source.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the operation was executed based on precise intelligence and resulted in the confiscation of the cargo, which originated from a neighboring country. The herbicides were illegally brought into the country with the intention of being sold on the national market.

The two individuals suspected of fraud were transferred to the Banfora High Court for further investigation. The gendarmerie reiterated its dedication to fighting fraud, which it views as a threat to the national economy and a possible source of terrorist financing.
