Citizen Watch Takes Lead in Gutter Cleaning Operation in Toma

Nayala: The Nayala Citizen Watch conducted a gutter cleaning operation in the town of Toma early on Saturday, August 2, 2025. This initiative is part of the community’s efforts to improve sanitation and prevent flooding during the winter season.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the operation was overseen by Jean No«l Foro, president of the Citizen Watch, and Thierry Ky, president of the National Collective for Refoundation (CNR). The team began their work at 6 a.m., focusing on the section from the Nayala pharmacy to the intersection crossing national road No. 21, which leads to the Toma town hall.

Local businesses supported the initiative by providing tricycles and drivers to help remove mud and waste. Financial contributions from several well-wishers also bolstered the operation. The collective effort concluded around 11 a.m. The organizers stated that the primary goal of this action is to maintain cleanliness and protect public health by mitigating the risks associated with stagnant water.

The Citizen Watch encouraged Toma residents to participate in these efforts to enhance the city’s cleanliness and appeal. The next meeting is planned for Saturday, August 9, 2025, to continue the sanitation work along National Road No. 21.
