Accra: A chartered accountant and former Municipal Chief Executive Officer of the Wa Municipal Assembly, Issahaku Tahiru Moomin, has declared his intention to contest for the position of National Treasurer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) when nominations are opened.
According to Ghana Web,
Tahiru, who served as MCE for the Wa Municipal Assembly for eight years, also has experience as the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for the Wa Central constituency in 2012 and 2016. His professional background includes roles as an accountant at the Controller and Accountant General Department and previous work at the Ghana Revenue Authority.
Dr. Issahaku Tahiru has also contributed to the Ghana Health Service, where he served as the Head of Finance in various facilities across the country, including the Ashanti Region. Presently, he is an International Business Agent handling financial transactions for organizations and clients.
The decision of Dr. Tahiru to run for National Treasurer has been met with positive reactions from party members across different networks and platforms. He is expected to bring his direct industry experience and extensive knowledge in Public Financial Management Laws to the role.
His experience in managing the finances of entities, along with his work as MCE and head of the constituency campaign team in Wa Central in 2012, provides him with a comprehensive understanding of financial management. His skills in fundraising, business networking, and investment principles are anticipated to enhance the NPP's financial strategies if he is elected as National Treasurer.
