Arochukwu: Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo has been laid to rest amid tears in his hometown of Arochukwu, Abia State. The actor passed away on May 11, 2026, at the age of 40 after battling kidney cancer.

According to Ghana Web, the funeral commenced on Wednesday with a wake-keeping ceremony in Ujari Village, Arochukwu. On Thursday, the funeral service took place at Mary Slessor School in Amanagwu Village, Arochukwu, followed by the final interment at his family compound.

Colleagues and friends of the late actor gathered to pay tribute before he was finally laid to rest. Alexx Ekubo was known for his roles in several Nollywood movies and his philanthropic efforts during his lifetime.
