Tenkodogo: The Muslim Community Implores Peace on the Occasion of Mouloud 2025

Tenkodogo: The Muslim community of Tenkodogo commemorated the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings be upon him) on Thursday evening at the great mosque in Sector 5. The celebration was marked by Quranic readings, a sermon, and a great prayer (Doua) in favor of peace and divine protection for the countries of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES).

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony was presided over by the Grand Imam of Tenkodogo, El Hadj Mamoudou Sana, in the presence of numerous worshippers and dignitaries. In his message, the imam recalled the meaning of Mouloud and the importance of following the Prophet’s example in daily life. He then implored “Allah Soubhanahou wa Taala to extend his protective hand to the three nations of the AES and to preserve the soldiers engaged on the battlefield against the enemy.”

Several personalities added to the splendor of the commemoration, including the head of Islamic affairs, El Hadj Idriss Diao, and the community elder, El Hadj Daouda Diao. The special delegation from the commune was represented by Yigo Alidou, spokesperson for its president. The latter invited Muslims “to continue their prayers tirelessly until the definitive return of peace.”

Participants hailed this celebration as a moment of fraternity and religious fervor, in a national context marked by numerous security challenges.

The commemoration of Mouloud 2025 in Tenkodogo thus allowed the faithful to renew their spiritual commitment and express ardent wishes for the stability and prosperity of Burkina Faso and all the countries of the AES. It reminds us that faith and unity remain essential weapons for overcoming adversity.
