Viim Solidarity Association Launches Initiative to Promote Local Cuisine

Ouagadougou: The president of the special delegation (PDS) of the commune of Boulsa, Issaka Sangla, officially launched the activities of the Association Viim Solidarit© (AVS).

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event marked the conclusion of the first edition of the Viim Solidarity Association's cooking holiday camp. The ceremony featured the tasting of local dishes, the presentation of certificates to participants, and a visit to the food products stand. AVS President Esil Awa Beloum/Belem stated that the camp aims to pass down culinary knowledge from grandmothers to the younger generation by focusing on local dishes.

The camp benefited 21 children, including internally displaced persons (IDPs) aged 10 to 17, with six boys participating. Touwendinda Francis Sakand©, the provincial director of Communication, Arts, and Tourism and sponsor of the ceremony, noted that the camp reflected the theme of the National Culture Week (SNC) Bobo 202: "Culture, youth and transmission of social values."

AVS President Esil Awa Beloum/Belem highlighted the association's goals to promote peace, support vulnerable individuals, and develop income-generating activities for women and young people. Ms. Beloum expressed hope for widespread support to achieve the organization's objectives.
