Watch as Woman Smashes Bottles, Invokes Curses During KMA Demolition

Kumasi: A dramatic scene unfolded at Santasi Roundabout in Kumasi when an aggrieved woman broke down in tears and smashed crates of bottles on the ground as some members of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) task force demolished structures in the area.

According to Ghana Web, the incident, captured in a video circulating on social media, showed the visibly distressed woman venting her frustration after her structure was marked for a demolition exercise to pave the way for the Santasi Roundabout-Asokwa Interchange dual carriageway project. In the footage, the woman is seen throwing bottles onto the ground while directing curses at the officials overseeing the exercise.

"God will punish you, people. When you are done demolishing my structure, kill me in addition," she is heard saying amid tears. Bystanders looked on as she continued to lament the loss of her source of livelihood while demolition equipment and security officers carried on with the operation.

The demolition forms part of preparatory works for the construction of a dual carriageway along the Santasi Roundabout-Asokwa Interchange corridor, a project expected to ease traffic congestion and improve mobility within the Kumasi metropolis. The exercise involves the removal of unauthorised structures and other encroachments within the road reservation.
