Accra: A video of a young senior high school student being surprised with a marriage proposal just moments after completing her 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) has gone viral. In the heartwarming footage, the man dressed in mufty attire was seen kneeling before the student, who had reportedly just finished writing her final paper.

According to Ghana Web, the one-minute, nine-second video, shared by @askghmedia on X and sighted on June 26, 2026, shows the student's reaction as she appeared both surprised and overjoyed. Family members were captured celebrating the moment by pouring powder on her. Amid the cheers, the young lady stretched out her hand, allowing the man to slip a ring onto her finger. The couple then embraced, signalling her acceptance of the proposal as relatives continued to shower them with powder.

A family member was heard in the video expressing gratitude to the student, reportedly named Ewurama, for agreeing to marry the gentleman. 'Helena, Eno Ama, thank you so much for agreeing to marry our sister,' the relative said. Meanwhile, the video has garnered mixed reactions online. While many celebrated the love and family support, others expressed surprise at the openness of an SHS relationship and the involvement of parents in such a moment.
