Bobo-dioulasso: The National Council of the Order of Pharmacists of Burkina Faso has donated a total of 100 tons of cement, 300 tons of granite, and construction materials to Bobo-Dioulasso and Ouagadougou as part of the presidential initiative Faso Mªbo.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the donation was facilitated by the voluntary contributions of pharmacists participating in this national effort. The initiative, launched by President Ibrahim Traore, aims to beautify and improve the living environment in Burkina Faso.
The donation includes 100 tons of cement, 300 tons of granite, 240 shovels, and other construction materials, alongside pharmaceutical kits. The initiative’s commitment began on August 28, 2025, in Bobo-Dioulasso, with a contribution of 50 tons of cement and 100 tons of granite.
Dr. Nedie Nao, President of the ONPBF, praised the initiative, emphasizing its clear objectives and visible results. Dr. Abdoul Aziz Djire announced the provision of pharmaceutical kits to support workers’ health, a gesture appreciated by Laurent K. Kontogom, president of the commune’s special delegation.
On September 4, 2025, in Ouagadougou, the Order reinforced its support with an additional donation, including 50 tons of cement, 200 tons of granite, 240 shovels, and catering kits. Dr. Nedie Nao reiterated the importance of a pleasant and healthy environment for health.
Dr. Emery Issouf Patrick Kafando highlighted the personal commitment of pharmacists, stating they were actively participating in the construction efforts. The contributions add to the 20 million CFA francs paid in 2023 for peace efforts, showcasing the pharmacists’ commitment to national development.
The Order of Pharmacists of Burkina Faso, encompassing all pharmacy professionals, continues to affirm its role as an engaged citizenry beyond its public health mission.
