SmartLi Mini uses a pack-level fire extinguisher to prevent open flames from spreading, ensuring the superior reliability of UPS2000-H. The small SmartLi UPS solution delivers industry-leading efficiency of up to 96%, two percent higher than competitor models.

In addition, Huawei Data Center Facility Ecosystem Team made its first debut at the event. The new team will be dedicated to supporting and empowering partners to unleash their business potential.

If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together. Huawei will continue to innovate and join hands with partners to achieve win-win cooperation with highly competitive data center solutions and trustworthy partner policies.

The new THREAD LIFT with approved design patent “TIMEMACHINE LIFT THREAD, ANCHORING DUAL COG”

SEOUL, South Korea, Nov. 11, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Safe thread lifting without surgery, the most representative lifting method with various advantages

TIMEMACHINE LIFE THREAD

Recently, with the development of various lifting procedures, there are many methods to perfect a natural look, and many people are getting these procedures regularly due to lower cost.

The most popular lifting procedure is thread lifting, a procedure that pulls loose skin for tightening by inserting a thin thread under the skin. The thread lifting has no side effects as it inserts medical thread into the skin with no residual thread. The procedure can be applied to any part of the body besides face lifting, and the effect is firm and lasts longer. It is a perfect alternative for customers who seek the closest effect without a lifting surgery.

Recently in the spotlight: TIMEMACHINE LIFT THREAD’s ANCHORING DUAL COG PDO

With its patented design, ANCHORING DUAL COG pulls the skin tissue from all directions with the 360-degrees 4D structure, and is especially lifting effective for loose skin, double chin, saggy front cheeks, wrinkles in the forehead, and sagging eyes. In addition, PDO material is advantageous for skin regeneration, wrinkle improvement care, elasticity management, enhancing skin through collagen generation.

Especially, ANCHORING DUAL COG inserts two strands of threads with different shapes in a single shot to offer dual lifting, which could shorten the procedure time, alleviate pain, and minimize damage to tissue. The bi-directional cutting cog has no side effect of skin dimpling as it repeats lifting and fixing in short sections. The specialized ending cog provides a thorough anchoring effect by minimizing the motion of the thread, providing effective lifting and maintenance. TIMEMACHINE is produced under the highest and the strictest quality management at a GMP, ISO13485, CE verified facility.

About TIMEMACHINE LIFT THREAD

TIMEMACHINE LIFT THREAD is a specialized professional Korea lift thread manufacturer company which has various specs such as PDO, PCL, PLLA, PLACL, and produces pressing cogs (molding cog), cutting cogs, volume thread, and mono thread. An official said, “the thread lifting method for wrinkle removal care is endlessly evolving, and the lifting effect can be advanced by using different kinds of threads for different parts, the most important is to use the qualified material and get a safe procedure from a skilled specialist”.

UN Talks on Russia Grain, Fertilizer Exports End Without Breakthrough

GENEVA, SWITZERLAND — U.N. chiefs held talks with Russian officials Friday on the Black Sea agreements about exporting grain and fertilizers, eight days before one of the deals is set to expire, but no settlements were reached.

U.N. humanitarian chief Martin Griffiths and Rebeca Grynspan, head of the U.N. trade and development agency UNCTAD, met a high-level delegation from Moscow, led by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin. The talks took place behind closed doors at the U.N. Palais des Nations headquarters in Geneva and finished by midafternoon.

“The discussions updated on progress made in facilitating the unimpeded export of food and fertilizers, including ammonia, originating from the Russian Federation to global markets,” a U.N. representative said. “The U.N. team briefed on steps taken to facilitate payments, shipping insurance, and access to EU ports for grains and fertilizer, among others.”

10.2 million tons exported

Two agreements brokered by the U.N. and Turkey were signed July 22. The first was to allow the export of Ukrainian grain blocked by Russia’s war in the country, while the second was on the export of Russian food and fertilizers despite Western sanctions imposed on Moscow following its invasion of Ukraine.

The 120-day Black Sea Grain Initiative runs out November 19, and the United Nations is seeking to renew it for one year. Moscow, however, has not yet said whether it will agree to that.

It has complained that the second agreement exempting its fertilizers from sanctions, which is due to run for three years, is not being respected.

“The U.N. calls on all actors to expedite the removal of any remaining impediments to the export and transportation of fertilizers to countries most in need,” the U.N. representative added.

Ukraine is one of the world’s top grain producers, and the Russian invasion had blocked 20 million metric tons of grain in its ports until the safe passage deal was struck.

Until Thursday, 10.2 million tons of grains and other foodstuffs had been exported from Ukraine under the deal, relieving some fears about a deepening global food security crisis.

Very serious implications

The U.N.’s Food and Agriculture Organization said the implications could be very concerning for global food security if the deal is not renewed.

“We see it as an important initiative that has improved food availability,” said Boubaker Ben Belhassen, director of the FAO’s markets and trade division.

“However, should we be in a scenario that nobody wants to see, that there is a termination of the deal, I think the situation could be really difficult and the implications could be very serious,” he told reporters via video link from Rome, where the FAO is based.

He pointed to global food security, prices, availability and food staples.

Ben Belhassen said that in the short term, prices would increase, especially for wheat, maize and sunflower seed oil, while availability of grains on the global market would go down.

There could be a heavy impact on countries that depend on Black Sea imports, notably in the Middle East and North Africa.

Condition of Hunger-Striking Pro-Democracy Egyptian Activist Unknown

The family of Egyptian pro-democracy activist Alaa Abdel-Fattah says officials have informed them that Abdel-Fattah has undergone a medical intervention.

The family says that authorities have not told them any specifics about the nature of the intervention.

The medical development comes just days after Abdel-Fattah, who has been on a hunger strike for several months, decided to stop drinking water Sunday, coinciding with the opening of the COP27 talks in Egypt.

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, in Egypt for the COP 27 session, have talked about Abdel-Fattah in their talks with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

Prison authorities have denied a lawyer for Abdel-Fattah access to his client.

The Associated Press reports Amnesty International’s Secretary-General Agnès Callamard has called for independent medical care for Abdel-Fattah.

“Why? Because the prison system in Egypt is abysmal in its treatment, medical treatment of prisoners,” she said.

Abdel-Fattah’s mother has made daily trips this week to the prison where her son is being held, but she has not received any information about his condition.

Funding Shortage Threatens Food Assistance to 1 Million Mozambicans

GENEVA — The World Food Program is warning it soon will be forced to suspend food assistance to 1 million people displaced by fighting in Mozambique’s volatile Cabo Delgado province without an immediate infusion of cash.

The United Nations food agency said aid will be cut off in February if $51 million is not received. February is the peak of the lean season in Mozambique, when food stocks are at their lowest.

The month is also during the country’s cyclone season, a period of great vulnerability.

WFP Country Director and Representative in Mozambique Antonella D’Aprile said that without humanitarian assistance, 1 million desperate and uprooted people will be on the verge of hunger. This funding situation has been going on for some time, she said.

“We have been delivering half rations since April 2022 because of limited funding and increased needs,” D’Aprile said, explaining that families affected by the conflict received or have been receiving less than 40 percent of their minimum caloric needs.

Around 4,000 people in Cabo Delgado have been killed and more than 1 million have been forced to flee their homes during five years of fighting between insurgents and Mozambique’s army. The government’s fight against the Islamist rebels is backed by troops from Rwanda and the regional bloc SADC, which is the Southern African Development Community.

U.N. officials said violence has intensified in recent months with unprecedented attacks in districts close to the provincial capital of Pemba and is spreading to neighboring provinces.

Speaking from the Mozambican capital of Maputo, D’Aprile said the attacks have pushed more people to flee their villages, leaving everything behind.

She described their condition as dire.

“These people are displaced and traumatized multiple times…50 percent of the people that are displaced are children,” she said. “… If the food insecurity gets worse, the first ones to suffer are children and women.”

UNICEF reports some 33,000 children in Cabo Delgado are severely malnourished and need special nutritional feeding.

D’Aprile said WFP needs the international community to step in now to avert hunger in the short term. She said money also is needed to address the root causes of chronic food insecurity in Mozambique, so people can become self-sufficient.

Geekvape held an online technical seminar to explore technologies used in the e-cigarette

SHENZHEN, China, Nov. 11, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — On November 10, 2022, Geekvape, one of the world’s best vapor brands, and oneshot media, a well-known French media outlet, co-hosted an online seminar on electronic cigarette technology with the theme “Leap further” to explore new trends in the advancement of e-cig technology.

Geekvape held an online technical seminar to explore technology using in the e-cigarette

The seminar invited industry experts to discuss “technological progress and innovation in the industry” based on four topics: user concerns, structural design of atomizers, battery cells and chips, and future development. Here is the link: https://fb.me/e/2UXBV9XpX

Geekvape held an online technical seminar “Leap Further” to explore technology used in the e-cigarette

According to Potti, director of marketing at Geekvape, the majority of users experience oil leakage for various reasons. The design of the structure can have a substantial effect on the performance of vaping devices. To provide better answers, the seminar was connected to the Geekvape Shenzhen Laboratory on-site. It has been demonstrated through simulation test experiments that the airflow design of the top and bottom structures is smooth and that their air resistance is identical. However, the top airflow structure has a greater thermal efficiency, allowing it to evaporate the liquid more thoroughly and effectively, resulting in more cloud and a better taste. Additionally, its structural design contributes significantly to preventing leakage.

Geekvape held an online technical seminar to explore the technology used in the e-cigarette

As the seminar discussion reached its climax, Industry experts agreed that the vape device was a whole, with the atomizer playing a significant role because it determined taste performance. Chips and battery cells influence whether you get the same taste over time.

The site reconnected with Geekvape’s product testing lab in order to examine how improved battery cells and chips affect the user experience. The tester explained that the output voltage of the product had a direct impact on the atomization of the nicotine oil, as well as the flavor. Consequently, the level and consistency of the output voltage are crucial. By comparing the output voltage of various products with the same atomization core resistance value, it is proven that the output stability of the Geekvape device is demonstrably superior to that of competitors, and that the entire device is more dependable. Geekvape’s devices are also exceptionally competitive in terms of chip output control when using the same battery cell.

Under the impact of numerous elements such as product form, user demand, rules, and regulations, the industry must continuously innovate and introduce new technologies, according to John Dunne, the director general of the UK Vaping Industry Association. As a company at the forefront of the industrial chain, Geekvape has accumulated technology over a long period of time, giving it the ability to withstand worldwide development and respond to market shifts.

Winning the Fight Against Neuropathy in Diabetic Patients

P&G Health and medical experts share clinical guidance in the diagnosis and treatment of nerve damage among diabetic patients

MANILA, Philippines, Nov. 11, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Ahead of World Diabetes Day 2022, P&G Health, brought together globally renowned multidisciplinary medical experts with Healthcare Professionals from across Asia-Pacific and the Middle East, at the ‘Winning the Fight Against Neuropathy in Diabetic Patients’ forum to share the latest clinical guidance on diagnosing and treating diabetic nerve damage. Hosted out of Manila and simulcast to more than 10 countries and 3400 participants, the signature event saw the roll out of clinical guidance on simple diagnostic procedure for peripheral neuropathy and sharing of clinical experiences by medical experts.

With Diabetes Mellitus being the leading cause[1] of peripheral neuropathy (PN), the increasing prevalence of PN is closely linked to the rise in the number of diabetic patients. PN including Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy (DPN) is the result of damage to the nerves impacting quality of life of people as they are not able to go about their daily lives as comfortably. Burning and stabbing pain in the feet and hands can have a significant impact on the activities of daily living, including walking, climbing stairs, and sleeping. Peripheral neuropathy is often misdiagnosed or underdiagnosed due to a lack of awareness amongst both patients and physicians[2]. Besides diabetes mellitus, B vitamins deficiencies and aging are other high-risk factors leading to peripheral nerve damage.

Dr Ashley Barlow, Senior Director, Medical & Technical Affairs, P&G Health (Asia Pacific, India, Middle East, and Africa) shared, “As a partner to International Diabetes Federation (IDF), P&G Health is committed to continued efforts to raise awareness on Diabetes and its associated complications including Peripheral Neuropathy and Nerve Damage. The ‘Winning the Fight Against Neuropathy in Diabetic Patients’ forum is the first of several scientific forums being rolled out by P&G Health as part of our World Diabetes Day awareness efforts across Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa region, to highlight the connection between Peripheral Neuropathy and Diabetes and the importance of early identification and timely treatment.”

Speaking at the forum, Dr. Rayaz A. Malik (Professor of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine, Consultant Physician at Central Manchester University Teaching Hospital) shared, “Peripheral neuropathy is highly underdiagnosed in South-East Asia and the Middle East due to a lack of consensus guidance on routine screening and diagnostic pathways. This has a major impact on the quality of life as a result of painful neuropathic symptoms, foot ulceration and amputation with an associated 5-year mortality of 40% and 80%, respectively.  An awareness and sense of urgency amongst patients and healthcare providers is required, and primary care physicians need simple tools and guidance to help them diagnose peripheral neuropathy.”

The P&G Health ‘Winning the Fight Against Neuropathy in Diabetic Patients’ forum brought to light enriching insights, data and clinical practice guidelines from health experts from across the globe and the region on the important role of neuropathy diagnoses, treatment and management, in improving the quality of life of diabetic patients,” added Dr. Ashley Barlow.

“While identifying a patient with early onset PN may sound challenging, it is not and doesn’t require complex diagnostic tools to diagnose peripheral neuropathy. Simple tools like a questionnaire and a sensory test can be a good start. By asking the right questions and listening to the patient, we can help patients avoid severe complications and improve their quality of life. The primary care physician has a key role to play in this,” added Dr. Rayaz A Malik.

  •  1 in 2 patients with diabetes and suffer from Peripheral Neuropathy[4] during their lifetime. With the increasing prevalence of diabetes there will be an exponential growth in the number of patients in these regions with PN.
  •  There are also at least as many people with pre-diabetes as there are with diabetes and at least 10% suffer from PN[5].
  •  A study from the Philippines in 2000 from the Diabcare-Asia project, which assessed 2,708 patients in diabetes centres, reported a prevalence of 42% for diabetic neuropathy, based on medical records[6].
  •  < 1/3rd of physicians recognize signs of DPN. Undiagnosed cases contributing greatly to the high rates of morbidity and mortality of diabetes[3]. Up to 50 % of patients are asymptomatic and therefore often remain undiagnosed and are at risk of insensate injury[7].
  •  If not diagnosed and treated early, DPN can manifest with neuropathic pain with a tremendous impact on the quality of life.

Leading Philanthropies Commit Half a Billion for an Equitable Energy Transition

Philanthropic commitment seeks to support a clean energy future for people and countries on the frontlines of climate change

SHARM EL-SHEIKH, Egypt, Nov. 11, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — A coalition of leading climate philanthropies today announced an investment of $500 million over the next three years to accelerate a just and equitable energy transition in low and middle income countries, while boosting sustainable development and creating new economic opportunities.

This catalytic philanthropic support will assist efforts by governments alongside civil society organizations and others that give momentum to new and emerging energy transition plans in the Global South. This partnership will build on existing and future multi-donor efforts that are ratcheting ambition and supporting government, community-level and corporate actions to mitigate climate change.

“This is a crucial time for philanthropy to scale its support to southern partners working to lead during remarkably challenging times,” said Izabella Teixeira, former Minister for the Environment of Brazil, Co-Chair of the International Resources Panel – UNEP and UN-DESA Board member. “The world needs southern leadership to prove that development priorities and climate priorities go hand in hand and build precedents for a truly just and equitable clean energy transition.”

“This mobilization of pooled funds to support climate action goes a long way to fill the gap of climate philanthropy funding in the south,” said Saliem Fakir, CEO of the African Climate Foundation, an African-led strategic grant-maker and think-tank working at the nexus of climate change and development. “It will strengthen southern leadership and localization of solutions especially in Africa where the gap of funding is the biggest.”

The partnership will support work that includes technical assistance and building the capacity needed to scale up renewable energy while transitioning away from fossil fuels, including through multi-donor initiatives. The aim of the investments is to support implementation in countries that have already made ambitious plans and to encourage more countries to develop high-ambition plans that will serve as the blueprints for the next decade.

“This funding is intended to support countries to implement their ambitious, just and equitable clean energy agendas,” said Christie Ulman, President of Sequoia Climate Foundation. “Philanthropy can and will play a key role in catalyzing a step change in support for energy and economic transitions. We recognize that the international community continues to fall unacceptably short of its promises for financial support to tackle climate change and its impacts. While this investment cannot and is not intended to make up for it, we are working to support countries in addressing their challenges and commitment to a clean energy transition. This commitment should be seen as a floor, not a ceiling, for what philanthropy can do to support a just and equitable future.”

The philanthropies involved recognize the bold leadership by many low and middle income countries in setting ambitious goals even in the face of profound climate impacts. Importantly, the commitment is not a replacement for the billions already committed to developing countries, but not yet delivered, by developed countries who have the responsibility, the ability and the funds to move much faster and scale action globally. Another key priority for philanthropies is to scale civil society efforts as they continue to be driving forces for a just transition.

“For any country’s energy transition effort to be just, legitimate, and ultimately effective, it will require sustained engagement and participation from affected communities and civil society actors on the ground,” said Jamie Choi, CEO of Tara Climate Foundation, a regional philanthropic foundation aiming to accelerate Asia’s energy transformation. “Resourcing national and subnational civil society partners to play a proactive role in spurring their country’s clean energy transition will ensure that solutions stick.”

The announcement contributes momentum towards other philanthropic efforts to support the Global South in a critical moment as countries face compounding food, energy, and cost of living crises in addition to the ongoing impacts of the climate crisis.
